I am not much of green zealot or a green geek and I can't afford green as it is presented. You energy folk want me to support tacking green onto the grid or trying to get all of my energy draining home needs met via a second mortgage.

Bringing green to average home owners is a must but, green must be affordable and felt. Green can not be a rich boy thing (mid class and up), or an engineer's fix the world plan.

I recommended a low power subsystem for the average home. That still might be a tough sell for some, rewiring and all. How about one green room. One room in each home, green powered and off grid, running the lights, communication, entertainment, fans whatever. A small solar panel/battery combo and whatever else that will generate/store power. One room, off-grid, solar/wind/battery. One room of greenness in every home. You should sell the concept, it's expansive. If every home and small business in Lorain had one green room.........
